What's Up with the NASA Astronaut in the Hospital?

The astronauts from the SpaceX Crew-8 mission didn't go straight to the Johnson Space Center in Houston. Instead, they headed to a medical facility in Pensacola, Florida. NASA isn't saying who the sick astronaut is or what's wrong, but they did say they're stable and staying in the hospital for safety.

Space travel can cause some weird health issues. Astronauts lose some of their blood volume in space and it takes time to get it back. That's why Heidemarie got dizzy after her mission. While we don't know much about this recent case, it's clear that space travel isn't easy on the body. At least these astronauts aren't stuck in space like the ones on Boeing's Starliner who can't come home until 2025.
