Why African Men Avoid Going to the Doctor

What health is impacted? Communicable diseases spread easily. These diseases spread like wildfire. Noncommunicable diseases don't spread person to person, but both can cause serious issues. We need to figure out how men view and deal with all these diseases and how sexism is impacting their health. Mental health is another big concern. Issues such as depression and substance abuse can cause serious problems. These are a big clouds in life and a heavy burden. These problems might be linked to life experiences. There might be more negative impacts. Their mental health may be ignored along with their physical health. Who knows why?
What does this mean for men with physical disabilities? How can we help? For men who are struggling with life events and feeling the stress of it all, must we wait to help? We need to give support to men.
What cultural beliefs and backgrounds might be stopping men of all ages accessing care they need?
What about older men. Are they facing unique issues.
We need to know more about how these factors affect men's health and well-being. Old and young, African men deserve better for their health.
