Why Does the Big Ten Get So Much Love?

ESPN's Sean McDonough raised some eyebrows recently when he questioned if Indiana should have made the College Football Playoff. Despite a strong season, Indiana didn't face many tough teams. McDonough wondered if their inclusion was more about being in the Big Ten. His partner, Greg McElroy, agreed, noting the Hoosiers' weak schedule and some self-inflicted mistakes.

McDonough also challenged the idea that the Big Ten is always better than other conferences. He pointed out that the Big Ten hasn't won many national titles recently. Yes, Ohio State won the first playoff and Michigan won last year, but that's not much compared to the SEC's recent success. McDonough asked why people think the Big Ten is so much better than the ACC or Big 12. He wondered if it's because they're playing each other. If the Big Ten isn't really better, then is their schedule really tough?
