Why Halyna Hutchins' Mom Won't Attend Rust Premiere

Halyna Hutchins' mother, Olga Solovey, won't be at the Polish premiere of Rust on Wednesday. She says Alec Baldwin's actions after her daughter's death make her too upset to go. Rust, a movie where Baldwin accidentally shot and killed Hutchins, is set to premiere at the Camerimage Film Festival in Poland. Solovey feels Baldwin hasn't taken responsibility or apologized for what happened. She thinks he's trying to make money from the movie, which makes her even more upset. Baldwin's trial for involuntary manslaughter was dismissed in July. The film's armorer, Hannah Gutierrez-Reed, was found guilty of the same charge and is serving an 18-month prison sentence.

Halyna's family lawyer, Gloria Allred, says Baldwin hasn't even called to apologize. She thinks it's cruel that he wants to promote Rust and make money from it. When tickets for the premiere went on sale, the website crashed due to high demand. Some people think it's not right to premiere the movie since it led to Halyna's death. The festival says they want to honor Halyna's work, but Baldwin won't be there to avoid distractions.
