Why Jennifer Lawrence Didn't Get the Role
Jennifer Lawrence is a big star. She's been in huge movies like The Hunger Games and X-Men. But even stars like her miss out on some roles.
Lawrence recently talked about why she didn't get a part in Quentin Tarantino's Once Upon a Time... In Hollywood.
"People thought I wasn't pretty enough to play Sharon Tate."
Sharon Tate was a real-life actress and model. Lawrence mentioned this on a podcast. The host said Tarantino wanted her for other roles too, like in The Hateful Eight. But she was busy with The Hunger Games at the time.
Lawrence joked about not getting the Twilight role too.
"I was too ugly for that part."
It's interesting how looks can play a big role in casting. Even for top actors like Lawrence.
Tarantino himself said he thought about casting Lawrence as Squeaky, a character who followed Charles Manson. But it didn't work out. He respected her as an actress though. Lawrence took it all in stride. She laughed about it on the podcast.
It's a tough world out there for actors. Even the best ones face rejection. But Lawrence seems to handle it well. She's still one of the biggest stars in Hollywood.
