Why the Super Bowl Isn't on Trump's Calendar This Time

A familiar face won't be in the stands at this year's Super Bowl. President Donald Trump, who made history by being the first sitting president to attend the big game last year, has decided to give it a miss this time around. He's got a simple reason: it's just too far away.

"The trip to Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, California, is a bit too much for him."

But distance isn't the only thing bothering him. Trump isn't happy with the entertainment lineup either. He's not a fan of rock band Green Day, who are set to perform at the opening ceremony, or Puerto Rican rapper Bad Bunny, who's headlining the halftime show. In fact, he's pretty vocal about his disapproval.

"He thinks their performances will only spread negativity."

Bad Bunny: A Political Figure

Bad Bunny, known worldwide for his music, has been quite vocal about his political views. He backed former Vice President Kamala Harris in the recent election and has been critical of Trump's immigration policies. This hasn't gone down well with Trump's supporters, especially after Bad Bunny's Super Bowl performance was announced.

"The rapper even joked about the controversy during his appearance on Saturday Night Live, saying he thought everyone, including Fox News, was happy about it."

Trump's Disapproval

Trump has also questioned why Bad Bunny was chosen for the halftime show. He thinks it's a strange decision and blames it on the promoters. But the truth is, Jay-Z and his company, Roc Nation, have been in charge of selecting the performers since 2019.

Green Day's Criticism

Green Day, who have been making music for over three decades and have won four Grammy Awards, have also been critical of Trump. During a recent concert in Los Angeles, they dedicated their song "Holiday" to fighting fascism and war, even changing the lyrics to take a shot at Trump's homeland security adviser, Stephen Miller.
