Windows 11 Gets a New AI Helper: What You Need to Know

Windows 11 is getting a new AI tool to make life easier. This tool can adjust settings on your PC based on what you ask it to do. For example, if you want to change how your mouse pointer looks or needs help controlling your PC with your voice, this AI can guide you through the steps and even do the task for you. Now, don't get too excited just yet. This feature is only available to a small group of users right now. You need to be part of the Windows 11 Insider program and have a specific type of PC. Specifically, you need a Snapdragon-powered Copilot+ PC with English as the main display language. But don't worry, support for other types of PCs is coming soon. This AI tool was first talked about in May. Now, Windows Insiders with the right kind of PC can try it out. Just make sure you have the latest Insider build installed. This AI tool is part of a bigger set of features coming to Windows 11 Insiders who have a Copilot+ PC. One of these features is the ability to reset the Recall function. Recall is a feature that keeps track of your activities on Windows. With this update, you can now erase all the data Recall has collected. To do this, go to Settings, then Privacy & Security, and finally Recall & Snapshots. There, you'll find a reset button.

In the past, Recall snapshots stayed on your PC forever unless you deleted them manually. Now, they will automatically disappear after 90 days. But you can change this setting if you want. Microsoft is also providing tips to help you understand how Recall works and how to use it better. Windows 11 Insiders with a Copilot+ PC can also use a new feature called Click to Do with Microsoft 365 Copilot. This lets you send text or images to the AI and ask questions about them. You will need a Microsoft 365 Copilot license for this feature. There are a few other new features in the latest Windows 11 Insider build. For example, you can now use Click to Do with email addresses. There are also new ways to share OneDrive files in the cloud. Plus, there are plenty of bug fixes, so this update is worth installing.
