Winter Arrives Early: B. C. Border Expects Heavy Snowfall
British ColumbiaYukon, CanadaFriday, October 18, 2024
This isn't the only place expecting snow. Areas south of the border in Fort Nelson, B.C., will also see their first substantial snowfall starting Friday. Most regions should get about 10 centimetres, but areas close to the border could see even more.
Drivers need to be extra careful on Friday night due to low visibility from drifting snow. There's also a wind warning for exposed coastal sections of North Vancouver Island, Haida Gwaii, and North and Central Coasts. Gusts up to 110 km/hour are forecasted for Friday.
Meanwhile, southern B.C. might see some wet snow on Friday afternoon before it turns to rain. An atmospheric river is moving in, bringing milder air along with it.
So, bundle up and stay safe out there! Winter is coming early this year.
