Winter Storm Hits Boston: What to Expect
Massachusetts, USAMonday, January 20, 2025
The rain/snow line will move from the Cape to Boston and then southeast overnight. By Monday morning, Boston could have 4-8 inches of snow, with some inland areas getting up to 10 inches. The storm will leave early Monday, bringing arctic air and highs in the 20s. Temperatures will drop to the teens by sunrise Monday, so watch out for icy roads.
Wind gusts could reach 30-40 mph at the coast and 20 mph inland from 4 p. m. Sunday to midnight. After midnight, expect northwesterly winds of 40-45 mph on Cape Cod. There might be some beach erosion on Monday morning as the storm moves away.
After the storm, prepare for some very cold days. Highs will be in the 20s, dropping to the teens Tuesday and Wednesday. Wind chills could be below zero until Thursday. But don't worry, there might be some precipitation next week to mix things up.
