Winter Storm Hits Boston: What to Expect

Get ready, folks! A storm is brewing off the coast of North Carolina and heading our way. This quick-moving storm will hit Boston Sunday night, bringing snow and wind. The storm will track near a point on the map known as 40/70, which helps meteorologists gauge its severity. While it won't cause coastal flooding or widespread wind damage, it's still a moderate to high impact storm. Sunday will start calm, with some clouds in the afternoon. By 2 p. m. , expect a few snow showers in Connecticut. As the storm strengthens and passes by offshore Sunday evening, it will pick up wind and snow. Boston will see the most snow from 6 p. m. to 3 a. m. Monday.

The rain/snow line will move from the Cape to Boston and then southeast overnight. By Monday morning, Boston could have 4-8 inches of snow, with some inland areas getting up to 10 inches. There might be some beach erosion on Monday morning as the storm moves away. After the storm, prepare for some very cold days. Highs will be in the 20s, dropping to the teens Tuesday and Wednesday.
