Winter Storm Hits DC: Snow and Freezing Temperatures Ahead

A major snowstorm is on its way to the DC region, bringing heavy snowfall and freezing temperatures. The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning effective from 10 p. m. Sunday until 1 a. m. Tuesday. Meteorologists predict snow accumulation between 6 to 12 inches. Officials are concerned about travel conditions, as roads may become impassable. Schools and government offices have announced closures and delays. The DC Mayor has declared a snow emergency, allowing cars parked on emergency routes to be towed. Maryland and Virginia Governors have also declared states of emergency.
