Are you ready for a night of celestial wonders? Wisconsin is about to experience something special. This Thursday, the full moon will be a supermoon, the third in a series of four this year. Named the Hunter's Moon, it'll look bigger and brighter because it's closer to Earth. But that's not all! Comet Tsuchinshan-Atlas is also set to appear in the night sky. So, where should you look? After sunset, check low in the western sky for the comet. As twilight ends, the supermoon will rise in the east. Saturn will be shining high in the southeast, while Venus will be low in the west-southwest. Gordon Johnston from NASA suggests that this is a great time to observe Saturn, especially with a backyard telescope. To get the best view of the comet, use binoculars or a small telescope, especially if you're in a city with light pollution. The moon's brightness might make it harder to see the comet, so find a dark sky location for the best viewing experience. Supermoons might not have a big scientific impact, but they sure make the night sky look amazing!
