Wyoming is in for a rough ride with a big winter storm coming.
The weather service has issued a warning. It will last until early Monday. Heavy snow and strong winds are expected.
Storm Details
- Snowfall:
- Western Wyoming: Snow will start falling this evening, worsening by midnight.
- Mountains: Jackson and Star Valleys could get 1 to 2 inches tonight.
- Wind River Range: More than three feet of snow expected. 10 inches possible Saturday night alone.
- Sunday: Up to 29 inches of snow possible.
- Winds:
- Gusts: 50 to 60 mph in South Pass and Red Canyon this afternoon.
- Overnight: Gusts over 60 mph possible in south Casper.
- Saturday Night: Gusts as high as 43 mph.
- Sunday: Breezy, with winds up to 33 mph. Wind chill could feel as low as zero.
Hazardous Conditions
- Snow Showers: Starting after 11 pm Saturday.
- Accumulation: 6 to 10 inches Saturday night, 9 to 13 inches Sunday.
- Chance of Snow: 80% Saturday night, 90% Sunday.
Much of western and central Wyoming is expected to see hazardous conditions. People should be prepared for heavy snow and strong winds.
